Welcome to the build guide/log of our KR2 project. My dad started this project back in the late 80’s and recently we decided to resurrect it. The boat stage is complete, so we’re ready to start prepping for glass and carbon fiber work. We have a remolded canopy and turtleneck, and we plan to buy remolded wing skins to save some time. We also have a Continental C-85 that we’re going to convert to an O200 when we do the rebuild. Through gathering as much knowledge and improvements to the design and build process that we can, we want to build the most efficient and streamlined airplane that we can. This website will chronicle all of the past, current, and future work on the plane. We may even throw some posts in about our adventures in our 1979 Piper Cherokee Six 300 (hard to call it that, since it bears more resemblance to a Saratoga). Make sure you check that out too! As always, if you want to contact us with questions, or even advice, head to the contact page. To see the posts about the KR build, click on the “Build Sections” button at the top of the page ( or click here: https://kr2.home.blog/build-sections/ ). Enjoy!
